distraction from inappropriateness

/Un-/invited

Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot-blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd need shepherd
But you you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate

Brain capacity is an interesting thing. It is amazing to discover that your brain is just meant to learn certain things, while you may repeat others ad infinitum and they still will never fully stick. If we compare trade theory formulas with Arabic, for example. Two things that are completely new to me, without any precedent experience in either of the areas. They might be seen as two sets of codes that must be broken in order to understand them, so one could be led to think that it is the same side of the logical brain that is at work. So why is it then, that it is impossible for me to learn a lambda-equation, but I am able to actually construct words in a language system so completely different from my own, after only a few sessions practise?

I am going to have to face it sooner or later; I am a born linguist. What am I going to do about that? The great thing with language is that once you understand it, a whole new world opens up and it is almost like taking a step into another narrative. I am sorry Smith and Keynes, but economics just does not possess that quality.

small drops of perfection!

I'm placing this under "Art"; I don't care what you say!

Be The Change

cultural oslo

Full day of sightseeing and more or less important taks....(mostly less..) but I managed to be pretty freaking cultural as well and I feel so goodo about myself. I was in the Tanum bookstore for about an hour just listing all the books I want to buy and later on my way home I made a stunning discovery.. we live just nearby the Literature house, which combines a big intellectual (with special departments for prize-winning authors) bookstore with literature readings, events and a SUPER cafè where I sat for a long time, contemplating my life ( yeah yeah...) and eyed through an amazing book about a for me un known (but as it seems, widely known!) artist called Andy Goldsworthy.

absolutely fascinating!

So I am in a great mood now, feeling inspired and so happy to be in a place where culture is appreciated and within reach for everyone. Tomorrow I am going to listen to Jonas Hassen Khemiri as he is having a seminar at the Literature house just before I have to get back to the station to return home to little halmstad...!
(Greit as they say here...)
Also, tomorrow morning I have a meeting with the person in charge of the credit-department at Rignes, so I am slightly nervous, but still...excited!

Off now to indulge in the world of Joanne Harris; Gentlemen and Players.

HA DET!

boondock saints

I certainly wouldn't mind putting these up on a wall somewhere.

birth of venus (aka ironic introduction to my blog)

image2

Big Aha-experience.

Venus, godess of love and beauty, offspring of Vulcan, is- according to Roman mythology- the real origin of the Roman people. Which means, that the very first Italian there was, actually was...a red-head!
I feel like I have finally come home. This is why I am strangely drawn to a country in spite of its vulgar gestures, its misbehaved, sleezy men and it's corrupted state. This is why I keep obsessing about The birth of Venus and all the works done by Botticelli, Lippi and the rest of the Italian renaissance-crew!
And, well..needless to say, the similarities are strikingly clear. I think I am stating the obvious when I now finally put the words out there:
- Ladies and gentlemen. I am the reincarnation of Venus.
